Scanio Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

Scanio App (Carlos Beleret and Amalio Gómez), based in Spain.

2. Data We Collect

• Account: name, email address and profile photo when you register (directly or via Google Sign-In).
• Scanned receipts: images of purchase receipts you voluntarily upload for processing; they are processed with AI and stored in your account.
• Scanned products: EAN barcode of products you scan to view ingredient or price information.
• Shopping list: products you add manually.
• Usage data: savings statistics, purchase history, supermarkets visited (generated from your receipts).
• Profile photo: stored locally on your device if you set one.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Process your receipts and extract products, prices and supermarkets using OCR and artificial intelligence.
• Display your purchase history, savings statistics and price comparisons.
• Manage your account and authentication (Firebase / Google Sign-In).
• Add gamification: points, achievements and ranks based on your activity in the app.
• Improve our receipt data extraction models.

4. Legal Basis

• Performance of contract / provision of the service you request (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).
• Explicit consent when you register (Art. 6.1.a GDPR).
• Legitimate interest in improving the service (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers in Europe or the USA with GDPR guarantees (standard contractual clauses).

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

• As long as your account is active.
• You can request deletion at any time by writing to scanioapp.info@gmail.com → we will delete your account and data within a maximum of 30 days.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to: access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), portability, restriction of processing, objection.

9. Children's Data

Scanio is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Device Permissions

• Camera: to photograph purchase receipts and scan barcodes.
• Gallery / Photos: to select images of previously photographed receipts.

You can revoke these permissions at any time from your device Settings.

Terms and Conditions of Use

1. Acceptance

By using Scanio you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. Service

Scanio is a free application for scanning supermarket receipts, comparing prices between supermarkets, managing a shopping list and obtaining nutritional information about products via barcode.

3. User Account

• You must register with a valid email or Google account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• One account per person.

4. Permitted Use

• Personal and non-commercial use.
• Upload only your own purchase receipts.
• No scraping, reverse engineering or automated use of the API.

5. Limitation of Liability

• Prices shown come from supermarket scraping and may not reflect the exact real-time price.
• Nutritional information is for guidance only; it does not replace medical advice.
• AI-based receipt processing may contain errors.

6. Intellectual Property

The app, its design and code are the property of Scanio App. Your receipt data belongs to you.

7. Applicable Law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Jurisdiction: courts of Spain.
